The Senior Software Engineer a member of a high-performing team that focuses on the development and implementation of a world-class online learning platform (LXP). The Senior Software Engineer is part of a team responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining multiple large components of the LXP platform while establishing and using industry-class software development practices and workflows. The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to a culture of collaboration and openness within the team and with partners.
Typical Core Duties:
Participate fully in software development life cycle.
Research, design, and implement technical solutions to deliver business requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve and simplify applications portfolio and implement related enhancements.
Contribute to creation and maturing of software development best practices and new technologies.
Draw on relationship and technical skills to act as technical liaison to internal and external clients and to mentor junior staff.
Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies and Code of Conduct
Other duties as needed or required.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of five years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills

Experience;
developing complex, distributed platforms.
working within education technologies and learning management systems.
with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Pulumi).
Expert knowledge in one or more web development technologies such as Node, JavaScript, TypeScript, NestJS, and Vue.
Familiarity with WCAG accessibility standards.
