JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Loan Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, execution, and maintenance of the organization’s loan Quality Control (QC) program. The role ensures compliance with federal and state laws, agency/GSE requirements, investor guidelines, client requirements, and internal credit policies and guidelines. The QC Manager supervises the QC team, oversees pre- and post- closing reviews, identifies risks, and works with stakeholders to address deficiencies and improve performance.

  1. Design, develop, execute, and maintain the Quality Control (QC) program, including sampling, auditing, questionnaires, and test plans utilizing industry-standard practices.
  2. Supervise QC Analysts to meet QC program requirements, including quality control testing, reporting deadlines, performance goals, and KPIs.
  3. Sample and identify loans for review, preparing data files for monthly testing.
  4. Conduct periodic file reviews, including discretionary, ATQ, and high-risk area reviews, as identified by management.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with business units and vendors to address issues, identify weaknesses, and determine root causes of deficiencies.
  6. Develop and implement action plans to address defects and mitigate risks, tracking progress to completion.
  7. Create comprehensive reporting and trend analyses to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Ensure professional and timely communication of findings to business units, senior management, and GSEs.

Other Duties

  1. Provide insights and recommendations to refine QC processes and enhance team performance.
  2. Support audits or reviews conducted by external entities such as investors, agencies, or regulators.
  3. Stay current on industry changes, trends, and updates impacting quality control and compliance.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners and filing cabinets. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.

Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.

Travel

Limited local travel may be required for this position.

Education and Experience

Required Qualifications:

  1. Associate’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Experience can be substituted.
  1. 5+ years of QC experience with FHA, SBA, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC, and related financial services organizations.
  1. Knowledge of federal and state laws impacting mortgage servicing, including TILA, ECOA, FCRA, RESPA, the Fair Housing Act, and others.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Experience with QC programs such as AuditGenius.
  2. Familiarity with investor and insurer requirements.
  3. Competency in trending analysis and report creation.
