The Senior Vice President Information Technology oversees planning for Information Services provided to the organization's users, customers and vendors and is involved in setting organizational strategy and vision
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Sets long-term strategic vision (10+ years) and oversees planning for Information Services provided to the organization's users, customers and vendors and is involved in setting organizational strategy and vision. Continually aligns financial and operational performance to create economic value and reports to the Executive Team on any and all aspects of division. Typically focuses on projects and initiatives that span 5-10 years, evaluates and monitors market trends.
As a member of the Executive Team, this role sets broader organizational vision and collaborates cross-functionally partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to align business strategy and drive accountability, ownership, and performance results. Continually aligns financial and operational performance to create ongoing economic value and reports to the Executive Team on all aspects of information technology performance. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Leads the development of the IT strategic plan and enterprise technology roadmap. Contributes actively to enterprise strategy and business capability strategic planning. Ensures integration with the enterprise's strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.
2. Provides strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of IT systems and programs that fulfill the needs of the business, including enterprise architecture management, application management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management.
3. Drives the development of enterprise technology standards, governance processes and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value to the enterprise. Manages risks through the effective design, delivery and management of IT capabilities for the enterprise. Serves on enterprise planning and other committees.
4. Serves as senior technology advisor to senior and executive leadership, educating peers and organization employees to understand the IT philosophy, purpose, and intent. Mentors' leaders on how to best harness technological resources, working proactively across business units to conceptualize, develop, and implement technology solutions that respond to business needs.
5. Enhances IT's capabilities by leveraging a multitude of resources, both internally and externally. Directs the development of the IT sourcing strategy and provides executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
6. Develops and manages budget to ensure that dollars are allocated and spent effectively and within budget parameters; responsible for maintaining these budgets throughout the year, balancing expenditures and profitability expectations.
7. Establish data governance policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of sensitive information, while also harnessing data analytics to drive informed decision-making and optimize business processes.
8. Maintains current on new technologies and platforms. Provides direction on what emerging technologies should be assimilated, integrated and introduced within the enterprise to ensure IT capabilities respond to the needs of the enterprise's digital business strategy.
9. Leading and Developing Talent: Directs organizational design for multiple departments and oversees development and training of staff. Ensures ongoing succession planning and development within and outside of unit. Actively networks and sources for positions throughout the organization.
10. Project and Change Management: Establishes project priority and timing, articulates vision for organizational changes. Authorizes use of organizational time, talent and financial resources to support projects and improvement initiatives. Manages change through effective communication and coaching throughout the organization. Builds and participates in leadership coalition supporting and implementing the change and frequently serves as Project Sponsor for major initiatives.
11. Community Engagement: Demonstrated leadership presence in the community through serving on volunteer boards, steering committees or other community committees that align with our intended impact.
12. Board of Director meetings: provides updates on financials, operations and progress towards goals for area/s of responsibility.
13. Responsible for completing all other duties/responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's Degree required and a minimum of 10 years' experience. Previous and demonstrated experience leading an IT department. Retail industry experience preferred.
2. Proven track record of success in developing and executing technology roadmaps that deliver value and support long-term business strategies.
3. Proficient understanding of industry compliance standards across all technology domains.
4. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.
