Position Purpose The Project Team Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading a team of Project Managers, ensuring the successful execution and delivery of projects across our Building Automation department. This role is pivotal in coordinating resources, managing timelines, and maintaining high-quality standards. The Project Team Manager ensures project outcomes align with company goals, drives team performance, and implements best practices in project management. Pay Range: $120,000 - $160,000 plus department profit share.   • Lead and mentor a team of Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage client relationships, addressing project-related issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in project management, continuously improving processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure that installations and schedules align with project expectations.
  • Oversee and manage the training and professional development of Project Managers, promoting continuous learning and team growth.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for project risks or changes in scope, providing solutions and adjusting plans as needed.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for project risks and scope changes, facilitating solutions and plan adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure all projects are managed in alignment with proposals, specifications, and customer expectations. Provide input and recommendations to the sales team to enhance estimation accuracy.
  • Oversee project schedules utilizing MS Project software or other approved platforms. Submit these schedules to the mechanical contractor to determine temperature control labor needs and to the engineering manager and /or operations manager for workforce forecasting purposes.
  • Monitor the progress of costs incurred on all assigned projects. When costs exceed estimates, determine the reason, corrective action, and notify the appropriate manager/supervisor(s).
  • Ensure that all project contract documentation is up to date and accurate, including project scope, plans, specifications reports, and other project-related documents.
  • Oversee timely ordering of equipment to meet project timelines based on approved submittals.
  • View and analyze job reports using company reporting tools and make or take corrective actions as required when needed.
  • Oversee changes in project scope, assess their impact, assist your team when necessary to ensure LONG is fairly compensated for changes to scope and contract documents.
  • Lead and manage scheduling of work-in-progress meetings and prepare specific information regarding the status of all costs and schedules for projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience), with 10+ years of project management experience, including at least 5 years in Building Automation/Temperature Controls or a similar industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, management, and construction procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willingness to accept responsibility and accountability.
  • Availability for after-hour consultation and problem-solving on assigned jobs, as necessary.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Ability to travel to and inspect job sites and visit customer locations.
  • Ability to utilize LONG estimating tools to assemble estimates and technical proposals for change orders.
  • Possess effective communication (written and verbal), and computer skills.
  • Possess good organizational and planning skills.

Physical Requirements
  • This work may involve standing for extended periods, climbing ladders or scaffolds, and working in tight spaces.
  • This position may require lifting to 50 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
  • This position may require climbing ladders and the ability to function at heights.
