The Role



We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer for our Protective Design and Security Practice. Join our growing Protective Design & Security team working to keep people safe from security threats in the built environment. Our team includes people from a variety of architectural, engineering, law-enforcement and other security backgrounds who work together on a wide range of project types including education facilities, office buildings, transit infrastructure, and sports facilities. You'll join a team that is continuously learning and adapting as we perform risk assessments and advise clients on improving the safety and security of their facilities.We are seeking a motivated and experienced physical security engineer with a background in building and/or facility physical hardening (blast, ballistics & forced-entry) to drive innovated security strategies in collaboration with our diverse team of security professionals.



Responsibilities



  • Collaborate alongside our experienced team security professionals.


  • Facilitate Project Management through:


    • Proactive and direct client engagement to communicate clear understanding of physical security requirements and coordinate the implementation strategies related to blast hardening, progressive collapse resistance, forced-entry protection, ballistic-protection and site security.


    • Working with and directing our team of junior engineers.


    • Coordinating the preparation of construction documents and other deliverables with staff, clients.


    • Maintaining project schedules.




  • Perform peer reviews and physical security studies and assessments.


  • Manage and mentor other design team members.


  • Participate in regular internal technical-development and knowledge sharing meetings.







Requirements



  • Experience in the Blast Engineering and/or Physical Security Industry.


  • Experience in Project Management and direct client engagement.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Master's degree preferred.


  • Proficiency with Physical Security Government Standards (DoD, DoS/OBO, GSA, VA, etc.)


  • Proficient in one or several of the following software tools:


    • MS Word, PowerPoint, Bluebeam, Single-Degree of Freedom Solvers, Finite Element software




  • The position requires the candidate to gain and hold US Security clearance.


  • Professional Engineer and/or SE License.


  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
