Manufacturing Supervisor - 3rd Shift




Location: Mosel, WI



Opportunity



The Supervisor is responsible for managing safety, quality, delivery, and productivity for their shift.



Skills/Requirements




SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Manage associate safety, ensuring operators are wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols throughout the department. Provide monthly safety training to MPC associates. Ensure operators are maintaining training on different safety systems at required intervals throughout the year, IE hoist training/recertification.


2. Manage quality of the work produced by MPC associates. Ensure associates are following inspection guidelines and have received proper training to do their job.


3. Lead daily Toolbox/Huddle meetings with associates.


4. Meet delivery targets by managing the critical list and working with MPC scheduling to set priorities and setting an overall strategy for your shift to follow.


5. Manage cost through the strategic use of overtime, and ensuring associates are meeting productivity requirements.


6. Post overtime for the department weekly.


7. Handle disciplinary action as necessary to drive accountability on all aspects of the above requirements.


8. Manage payroll and vacations for their associates.


9. Shutdown the building as necessary if you are the last shift in the plant.


10. Conduct New Associate 30-60-90 day reviews, and thereafter annual reviews to provide both positive and constructive feedback as necessary.


11. Work closely with maintenance Supervisor to provide machine availability for PM tasks that may need to be completed while minimizing downtime by scheduling during vacation periods.


12. Manage training and cross training of associates using training checklists and job hazard analysis documents.


13. Maintain and update Tier 1 board.


14. Attend daily production meetings to communicate and set production priorities within MPC for all shifts.


15. Monitor capacity and other constraints to provide feedback to the Cell Manager, so, alternate sourcing methods can be utilized as necessary to ensure SQDCP targets can be met.


16. Report any mechanical, or, operational problems to the Maintenance Department and MPC, write work orders as needed.


17. Perform all duties as assigned by Manager.


18. Practice and follow all required safety regulations.


19. Must have high attention to detail and patience.


20. Must have high sense of urgency.


21. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.


22. Must be punctual and dependable.


23. Associate should have good spatial reasoning skills and high mechanical aptitude to make deductions and inferences regarding processes or operations that may require improvement.


24. Must have management experience in complex manufacturing environments.


25. Ability and willingness to learn, experience in metal fabrication and painting is preferred but not required.


26. Preferred to have experience in union environments, but not required.


27. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

Supervisory Relationships:


1. Reports to Cell Manager - Metal Processing Center


Organizational Relationships:


1. Frequent contact with Manufacturing Supervision.


2. Frequent contact with Shop Floor Associates


3. Frequent contact with Kohler Co. Engineering and Operations Groups.


External Business Relationships:


1. Contact with vendors



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE



Minimum Associates Degree in a technical field and/or 5+ years management experience in complex manufacturing environments. Must communicate well, both written and orally. Must be computer literate.

The salary range for this position is $69800 - $87950. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
