Our client is looking for a Printing Operations Manager to oversee and lead a dynamic printing and converting department of approximately 25 employees. This key role supports a facility producing up to 20,000 tons of folding cartons annually across multiple printing presses and converting equipment, generating up to $50M in revenue. The ideal candidate will champion initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity while driving operational efficiency and employee engagement.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to boost productivity and reduce waste through innovative process improvements and projects.
Drive labor efficiency by optimizing staffing levels and managing overtime.
Implement lean manufacturing practices to maximize throughput and streamline operations.
Manage and provide direction for printing processes, ensuring alignment with operational goals.
Partner with scheduling teams to organize and prioritize workflows effectively.
Oversee raw material inventory and cost-saving initiatives.
Facilitate onboarding of new business and ensure seamless integration into production workflows.
Supervise, train, and support a team of non-union hourly employees, fostering a collaborative environment.
Promote a safe working environment and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards, including SQF and ISO certifications.
Act as a liaison with customers, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a folding carton printing environment.
Background in lean methodologies, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma (preferred).
Familiarity with industry compliance standards such as SQF and HACCP.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing and motivating teams.
Technical expertise in printing and converting processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
