Work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks.
Maintain running accounts of orders received, work completed, and inventory
Match workload, manning, and equipment capacity to existing inventory
Assist with preparation and monitoring master schedules; works with materials planning, production, Engineering and maintenance personnel to coordinate activities
Requisition materials after determining delivery dates
Advising inventory control of requirements and usage
Communicating status and changes to customer service or directly to customers (production)
Coordinates predictive and preventative maintenance scheduling
Maintains equipment information and repair files.
Assist other maintenance personnel with equipment repairs and research.
Planning and coordinating maintenance jobs and projects.
Work directly with production personnel to isolate and repair equipment problems utilizing the talent of the Maintenance Technicians.
Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
Monitor the SAP system daily activities and reports to ensure that technicians are utilizing the system correctly to help us monitor work load of the technicians and trends in outages, breakages to assist in improving the equipment and process.
Assist the Manager and Supervisors by determining workloads and schedules.
Monitors and participates in operations in assigned sections including inspecting projects, developing and implementing modifications and improvements, recommending specifications and scheduling for contracts, negotiating prices and inspecting contractor’s work to ensure that safe work practices and standard operating procedures are followed.
Answers questions and provides information related to projects including resolving problems, recommending approving expenditures to the manager, handling complaints and providing technical expertise in area of assignment.
Interacts professionally with the vendors and effective working relationships and works in cooperation with the management team to effectively meet departmental objectives.
Provide input to the Maintenance Management into the development of the maintenance and repair operating budget for the assigned area of responsibility; orders materials and supplies; assists in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures for the maintenance department.
Coordinate with the production section to ensure that you are providing them the support that your “Customer’ deserves, including scheduling and resolving problems.
Experience, Skills, & Knowledge
Minimum five (5) years maintenance experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial maintenance
1-3 years of pipe/steel industry experience preferred
Proven ability to apply manufacturing process control techniques.
Strong decision making skills based on analytical approach to problem solving, including application of statistical techniques.
Ability to work independently and execute objectives in a cross-functional team environment
Demonstrated leadership skills for potential carrier growth opportunities.
Education, Training, & Certifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Advanced education and/or training specific for maintenance/engineering preferred
