Job Description:

Responsible for program management and oversight of day-to-day operations of the Material and Equipment Management shop within Facilities Management.   


Duties:



  • Oversee full material management program, including ordering materials, barcode, space management, and inventory counts.

  • Responsible for daily operations including staff supervision, program evaluations, and developing long-range plans.

  • Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports regarding inventory usage, vendor and spend usage, and equipment spend.

  • Ensures compliance with University Procurement, Inventory, and Fleet regulations.

  • Meets with department leadership to discuss inventory and equipment status and goals.

  • Provides oversight of ongoing projects and initiatives.

  • Interfaces with university departments and outside organizations for procurement and service contracts. Develops proposals, negotiates, and administers grants and contracts.

  • Assesses shops effectiveness and identifies areas of improvement.

  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND;



  • 48 months of related experience


Equivalent/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree to equal 96 months of related experience.


Skills:



  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports

  • Able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively

  • Must be able to read and interpret policy as well as State and Federal regulations


Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment. Warehouse environment. 


Departmental Preferences:



  • AssetWorks experience

  • Facilities Management experience


Supervision: Supervising 4 Inventory Associates, 1 Equipment Supervisor, and 2 equipment mechanics
