Basic Job Functions:


The Cooling Bed Operator is responsible for, but not limited to, loading and maintaining the mapping of the cooling bed, assist blade and roll changes and any additional tasks needed, as well as, communicate with other teammates to maintain accurate tracking of the product. The Cooling Bed Operator must be able to accurately follow and understand cut sheets, make accurate and timely decisions, and understand the tracking system in order to ensure customer orders are complete and trackable. Operators will be able to figure bar length for cut sheets in order to complete any unfilled orders. The use of various hand tools will be necessary to make minor repairs to equipment as needed. The Operator will be expected to work in the fast paced environment, with little or no supervision. This position will work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and cover any positions on the crew as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Requirements:


1-year previous Rolling Mill / Finishing experience
