Job Description Summary:
This role requires expertise in operating skid steers, mini excavators, and mid-size excavators for structural demolition, site work demolition, and tenant improvement (TI) demolition and will be responsible to determine the scope of work, forecasting durations and collaborate with the foreman and superintendent to ensure project success.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• 
  Equipment Operation:
  
  
  • Operate skid steers, mini excavators, and mid-size excavators to perform demolition tasks, including structural demo, site work demo, and TI demo.
  
  
  • Utilize attachments such as breakers, grapples, processors / sheers, and buckets to complete tasks efficiently and safely.
  
  
  • Perform precise grading, trenching, breaking, and material handling as required by project plans
  
  
  
  


• 
  Plan Reading & Scope Determination:
  
  
  • Collaborate with the foreman and superintendent to ensure tasks align with project goals and specifications.
  
  
  • Identify and coordinate equipment, tools, and manpower required to complete assigned tasks effectively.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Demolition Expertise:
  
  
  • Execute structural demolition, including breaking down concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
  
  
  • Perform site work demolition, such as clearing, grading, and preparing sites for new construction.
  
  
  • Support tenant improvement (TI) demolition, including selective interior demo of walls, floors, ceilings, and utilities.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Safety & Maintenance:
  
  
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
  
  
  • Identify and report mechanical issues or required repairs to site supervisors promptly.
  
  
  • Follow all company and OSHA safety standards, ensuring proper PPE usage and hazard awareness.
  
  
  
  


• 
  Communication & Coordination:
  
  
  • Work closely with site supervisors, foremen, and team members to execute tasks efficiently and meet project timelines.
  
  
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and site huddles to review tasks, hazards, and project goals.
  
  
  • Provide input on task sequencing and site logistics to optimize productivity.
  
  
  
  


• 
  General Support:
  
  
  • Assist with material handling, general labor, and site cleanup as needed.
  
  
  • Support project crews in achieving quality and efficiency goals across all demolition phases.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications:

Minimum 4 years of experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, and mid-size excavators in a demolition or construction setting. Demonstrated expertise in structural demolition, site work demolition, and tenant improvement (TI) demolition. Proficiency in using equipment attachments, such as breakers, grapples, and buckets. Knowledge of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of job site safety protocols and OSHA standards. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing manual labor as needed. Comfortable working in outdoor environments with varying weather conditions.
