Job Description:

The Housing Advocacy Specialist provides homeless assistance and prevention services to households in need. You'll approach individuals and families in crisis with empathy and patience, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and a detail-oriented work style while engaging with a diverse population.

As a Housing Advocacy Specialist, you'll processes requests for assistance and support program participants through in-person interactions or via phone, email, and mail. You'll apply critical thinking and multi-tasking skills, make referrals to other programs, and collaborate with agency teams to deliver comprehensive services. You'll conduct community outreach in the service region and assist with housing advocacy initiatives. You'll follow program guidelines, rules, and regulations, and attend necessary training to remain updated on program changes.

You'll report to the Zumbrota office, 40 hours per week, typically 8am - 4pm (Monday-Friday). Occasional travel using a personal vehicle is required; mileage reimbursement is based on the current IRS mileage rate. Starting pay for this position is $26.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow data privacy policies and procedures.
Current, valid driver's license in good standing as defined by agency insurance company, unless explicitly approved otherwise by supervisor.
Current, valid personal automobile insurance, unless explicitly approved otherwise by supervisor.
Ability to pass required background study, as defined by position.
Minimum bachelor's degree with previous case management/service coordination experience
Preferred LSW and/or LADC
