CooperVision (CVI) is recruiting a Senior Engineer, Projects GTIG. As a member of CVI’s Global Technical Innovation Group (GTIG), the Senior Engineer, is a high tech-high touch project facilitator and integrator that motivates teams towards implementing a project within the established scope enabling strategic plan. This role leads a variety of projects ranging in size & scope for multiple sites and locations, the implementation of one or more subprojects within a project, or the implementation of specific deliverables using project management (PM) tools and methodology. This position works onsite and is based in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Provides the project team with leadership, planning, and coordination for all project activities.
Defines, manages, and controls the project’s scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risks.
Continuously and appropriately communicates, provides status, and escalates any factors and matters that may affect the project and team, including ongoing interactions with management, project sponsor, team members, and other stakeholders to balance goals, and ensure alignment on decisions.
Develops relationships and partners with other functions and departments to ensure project team’s alignment, compliance, and delivery of results.
Builds effective teams and interactions.
Enables Cooper’s strategic plan by ensuring alignment of the project’s end-result with our vision, mission, and objectives.
Executes project related activities such as protocols, execution, deviations, and reports, among others.
Balances the competing constraints on the project and maintains a holistic and systemic view of the project, considering internal and external factors.
Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Administers project budget and resources.
Other functions may be assigned.
Travel:
This role may require travel up to 25% of the time both domestic (within US), and international.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Computer literate (MS Office suite including Project and Visio as well as other PM software and applications) required.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, highly proficient on interpersonal skills.
Influence, persuasion, problem solving, coaching, mentoring, decision making, and prioritization skills are critical.
Highly motivated, self-starter, results driven and committed.
Needs to have high analytical capacity and level of professionalism and judgement to resolve problems.
Generally, works in a closed environment, in office conditions, with moderate level of noise and controllable changes of temperature.
Applies communication skills (advanced reading, writing, and technical skills) and mathematical concepts knowledge to perform work and coordinate with others.
Experience:
Three (3) years of project management experience required.
Experience and exposure to the regulated manufacturing (medical devices/ pharmaceutical) strongly preferred.
Project management (PM) tools experience and proficiency are required.
Ability to lead teams, projects and execution aspects in a fast-paced environment required.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Graduate or advanced studies preferred.
PMP and other project management certifications preferred.
EIT license and CIAPR membership.
