How will you make an impact? As an Inspector Packer III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of packed products while adhering to safety and organizational standards. You will lead by example, training new employees and contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient workplace.
What will you do?
Perform in-process inspections: Examine the visual attributes of products, identifying defects such as discoloration, burns, contamination, splay, delamination, and other inconsistencies.
Record data: Maintain detailed records related to product performance and tasks as required by management.
Pack products: Transfer items from catch bins or boxes into shipping containers, weigh and label containers using SAP, and stack finished products on pallets for shipping.
Maintain the work area: Ensure a clean and organized environment by sweeping, removing dust or debris, and cleaning up spills or leaks around molding presses.
Operate machines: Run manual molding presses as needed, including removing products, packing them appropriately, and performing secondary operations like trimming, reaming, and hot stamping.
Train employees: Provide training and guidance to new Inspector/Packer I employees, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards.
Sort and rework: Identify and rework non-conforming products, documenting their status and performing sampling and gauging as necessary.
Foster teamwork: Build and maintain positive relationships across all departments.
Ensure compliance: Adhere to all safety, environmental, and organizational policies and procedures, utilizing proper safety equipment as required.
Complete training: Fulfill all required training assignments promptly.
Perform additional responsibilities: Take on other duties as needed to support operational goals.
How will you get here?
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Experience in inspection, packaging, or manufacturing processes is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Proficiency in basic math, with the ability to perform accurate measurements and calculations.
Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely lift up to 35 lbs.
Strong color perception and manual dexterity.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Competency in personal computer use, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), SAP, and email systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with SAP and experience in a manufacturing or quality-focused environment.
Demonstrated ability to train and mentor junior team members.
