SUMMARY



Bering Straits Professional Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Senior Technical Trainer to assist in managing a DOS Peace Ops contract in Tanzania. The Senior Technical Trainer shall be the Team Lead's principal trainer conducting various peacekeeping-related contract training requirements specified in the SOW.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Civil-military Cooperation (CIMIC) formally serves in a Civil Affairs unit and/or formal assignment - annotated by dates and duration - to an Engagement Team or CIMIC staff position in a maneuver unit. Must demonstrate detailed evidence of demonstrated experience and expertise - annotated by dates and duration - conducting formal, structured, and stand-alone CIMIC and engagement operations as a primary function of their responsibilities.
  • Conducts various peacekeeping-related contract training
  • Enable each participant's ability to plan, direct, collect, produce, and disseminate key information influencing the unit's ability to satisfy the mandate, protect civilians, protect the force, and perform associated operational task.
  • Incorporates operational scenarios and PEs completing, submitting, and receiving UN and/or regional reports
  • Plan, design, and conduct ten (10) training days of EP and CIMIC section training and mentor and assist the TPDF trainers as they conduct the training for approximately thirty (30) officers, NCOs, and soldiers assigned to EP and CIMIC section duties.


Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications


  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • The Senior Specialty Trainer shall have a minimum of 10 years of technical experience which includes a relevant blend of military skills, experience, knowledge, and current certifications
  • Minimum of ten (10) years U.S. or NATO military explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) occupational specialty at E6-E9; WO2-WO5; O3-O5.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years U.S. or foreign military medical occupational specialty experience, including service after September 11, 2001.
  • Minimum certification in Tactical Combat Casualty Care, Prehospital Trauma Life Support, paramedic, or other recognized pre-hospital medical certification which demonstrates expertise in advanced tactical medicine.
  • Relevant military/tactical medicine experience (operations or training, including civilian) in the last 5 years.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics


  • Experience working in a foreign country with foreign security forces or simply engaging with foreign security forces as a function of one's job
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military)
  • Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa.


Preferred


  • Experience as senior trainer to a foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building.
  • Recent experience (EOD unit) while deployed to a combat, peacekeeping, or other contingency operation.
  • Experience working in a trauma hospital or conducting triage operations during a military or peacekeeping operation.
  • Experience as a trainer to a foreign security partner, military or civilian.
  • Demonstrated military experience as a civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) practitioner.
  • Experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa.

WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


The job is directly engaged with foreign security forces at the tactical and/or operational level by delivering training, mentoring, advising, and equipping activities as part of a program aimed at improving specific capabilities of those forces. Experience working in a foreign country with foreign security is required and may have exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. Travel is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
