The Opportunity




This position can be based anywhere in the United States! Must be okay with travel between 50-75% anywhere in the US.



Tradebe is looking for a Director of Radioactive Operations to oversee and drive the profitability and growth of our Radioactive Line of Business (LOB). This role encompasses P&L management, business development, fieldwork oversight, and client consulting. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiencies, exploring sustainable solutions, and fostering vendor relationships.



Key Job Responsibilities





  • Oversee the financial performance of Radioactive LOB, ensuring profitability and growth.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities.

  • Perform and supervise technical fieldwork and manage fieldwork crews.

  • Provide expert consulting services in relation to radioactive waste to clients across the United States.

  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and radiation surveys to understand and address client needs.

  • Aid in the preparation and completion of requests for bids and proposals.

  • Manage radioactive recycling and processing activities, focusing on improving efficiencies and business margins.

  • Identify and implement new, sustainable outlets for managing radioactive materials.

  • Strengthen and improve relationships with vendors.




Qualifications





  • Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field required

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in radiological materials management. Experience as a Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is preferred

  • Ability to perform fieldwork as needed; experience with radiometric measuring devices is required

  • Must be able to travel 50% of the time by plane, car, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and articulate the organizational value proposition effectively

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of information management systems

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment to achieve goals

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the United States to support the sales team and provide technical expertise
