SUMMARY



Articom, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Personnel Security Specialist for Articom, Washinton DC.

Responsibilities




ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.


The contractor will provide the following personnel security services.

  • Assist front-end security intake processing through receiving security documents for processing through AOC centralized portal system.
  • Assist back-end security intake processing through reviewing, analyzing, processing personnel security forms.
  • Monitor the AOC centralized portal system daily to track the status of applicant requests for congressional credentials, background investigations, and federal drug testing.
  • Conduct security checks and review personnel security information using various databases to verify if an individual has the appropriate background investigation requested.
  • Perform administrative management functions for congressional credential management.
  • Develop and deliver status reports briefing Government Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) and other stakeholders on the status of processing candidates.
  • Send email communications, make phone calls and coordinate meetings with the appropriate representatives to implement personnel security requirements and suitability processing.
  • Provide technical assistance to applicants completing their congressional security forms.
  • Contributes to initiatives to improve functional and/or automated processes within the division.
  • Prepares written documentation in support of the personnel security mission such as internal standard operating procedures, reports, training and instructional materials, and briefings.


Qualifications




QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty.   • Minimum 5 years of experience in Personnel Security and the processing of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data
  • Must have three (3) years of personnel security administration, proven experience rendering adjudicative or entrance on duty (EOD) decisions.
  • Ability to research and analyze information to conduct searches of national security databases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines; and
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS


  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation "safety-sensitive" functions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT



Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • No supervisory responsibilities.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS



As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
