The Department of Public Health Sciences is currently seeking a full time Sr. Manager, Programs. The Senior Manager, Programs oversees the day-to-day administrative management of assigned program(s) within the department and works to ensure the successful implementation of all initiatives. The incumbent operates with the goal of delivering high quality programs to the University faculty and staff and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, the Senior Manager, Programs serves as the liaison to leadership, faculty, students, and staff.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Serves as main point of contact for students and remains available to assist with inquiries. Prepares, maintains, and reports on program effectiveness. Assists with managing program budget by monitoring expenditures. Stays abreast of market trends and legislation impacting program functions. Checks, verifies, organizes, and prepares grants, procurement, and other program relevant documents. Supervises, monitors, trains, and evaluates program staff members to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Coordinates logistics for program events and activities. Works with other departments to increase program awareness. Identifies new needs and emerging issues and develops new programs, initiatives, and resources. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
Department Specific Functions
Sr. Manager, Programs, Supports innovation in graduate education, both online and residential, reports directly to the Associate Dean and inaugural director of online MPH, and offers administrative support for the design and implementation of innovative educational programs throughout the University of Miami (UM), Miller School of Medicine, and the Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS) online MPH program. The Sr. Manager, Programs will (1) manage collaborations with online partner(s), (2) guide operations involved in expanding, marketing, and branding of online programs and contribute to strategic recruitment for, and enhancing delivery of, UM online MPH and other innovative training programs, and (3) assist the Associate Dean for Masters and Professional degree programs in writing proposals for innovative educational degree and non-degree programs. These responsibilities require a detail-oriented and efficient individual with excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills. Attention to customer service and stakeholder engagement is required. The position reports to the Associate Dean for Master's and Professional degree programs/inaugural online MPH director.
JOB FUNCTIONS
1. In consultation with the Associate Dean/director, coordinates faculty advisory boards and committee meetings, assists the Associate Dean/director with establishing goals and objectives, monitors progress, provides concise reports for each of the action items, and assesses and advises on resources needed for each action item.
2. Under the guidance of the Associate Dean/director, establishes and monitors best practices for administration of high-quality innovative multidisciplinary degree and non-degree programs and adheres to agreed-upon timelines.
3. Promotes online and innovative educational initiatives, including marketing the programs, digital advertisement, creating and editing brochures and promotional material, managing webpages and social media, and assists with other correspondence(s) as needed.
4. Forecasts and monitors enrollments.
5. Monitors third-party online company partners' advising and student success teams.
6. Collaborates with the Associate Dean/director to design and implement strategies to ensure program quality.
7. Creates enrollment and program analytics reports. Provides administrative and logistical reporting for timely content transition to online format, new course development, and other educational material.
8. Coordinates with the Associate Dean/director, processes for alumni data collection and updates.
9. Works directly with the DPHS Budget Office to support online degree and innovative programs.
10. Manages program operating expense budgets, excluding salaries, as well as program fees, and expenses submitted to the program account.
11. Assists with recruiting of additional staff, including student employees, as necessary to meet program needs, and trains and supervises direct reports according to the University's established policies. Final decisions for any hires are at the discretion of the Associate Dean.
12. Provides weekly updated reports for the Associate Dean/director to facilitate communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
13. Prepares executive summaries, reports, and presentations to meet program needs.
14. Represents the University at various internal and external conference opportunities to promote and enhance innovative initiatives.
15. Provides information, updates, advocacy, and education regarding the online degree and non-degree programs to internal and external constituents.
