Purpose of Job: Safely and efficiently perform various duties within PBV’s warehouse operations to support internal and external customers and meet business goals and demands. Moving empty trailers from their dock location to their shipping location within the yard to keep the Transport, Production, and Vertique departments moving efficiently. Pulling, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, stacking, building pallets, wrapping, transporting, counting, performing quality control checks, dumping, reworking, replenishing, and otherwise handling PBV products, raw materials, packaging, and other warehouse goods and materials.
Job Duties:
Efficiently and safely move trailers in the yard with good backing skills.
Perform daily switcher checks for maintenance issues.
Checking trailers and docks for any safety concerns.
Communicate across all departments using a 2-way radio.
Ensure the yard and lots are neat and organized.
Safe and efficient Operation of various warehouse material handling and material moving equipment in order to store, stage, retrieve, replenish, load or unload product and materials in designated areas or onto automatic conveyors or onto trailers for shipment.
Performing all required safety and pre-trip checks on assigned machinery.
Perform janitorial tasks as necessary in designated work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED is preferred.
At least six (6) months of Verifiable tractor-trailer trailer or yard switching experience.
Heavy Machinery operations.
Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Interact respectfully and courteously with associates, co-workers, management, and customers.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Computer/Human Machine Interface skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Good math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
Sorting and grouping skills.
Must be able to read and understand the difference in product labels and load ticket instructions.
Must be able to count large quantities of products and materials.
Must be able to read/hear and understand procedures for performing work.
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled with exposure to hot/humid or cold weather conditions.
