Fleming Museum Business Manager

Reporting to the Director of the Fleming Museum of Art, the Business Manager is a member of the Fleming Museum's team of eight full-time staff. Contribute specialized expertise across the Fleming's all-staff, team-based operations to provide budget, financial, personnel, administrative, and operational management support to the Fleming Museum of Art. Manage, track, and provide analysis and reporting of Fleming's annual budget revenue and spending; provide general administrative and organizational support for the Museum's Director and staff. Serve as liaison with UVM and external offices on all matters relating to budget, finance management, sponsored projects, contracts, grants and gifts, HR, and reporting.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two to four years' related experience required. Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and discretion with private and/or sensitive information required. Proficiency with software applications used to support office functions required. Effective management skills in areas of financial management and accounting and/or general administration required.
Ability to work independently on behalf of team, plus knowledge of software tools such as PeopleSoft and Kronos preferred. UVM or higher education budget management experience desired. Experience working in museums, nonprofit arts organizations, and/or higher education settings. Substantial knowledge of art museum field, specifically academic art museums highly desirable.
