The role of the Shipping Teammate is to drive positive results in the Shipping Department to meet all NSBHM Division goals. This may include, but is not limited to, the safe, effective operation of all Shipping mobile equipment, loading trucks and railcars, taking care of Nucor's Customers, taking pride in housekeeping and NSBHM appearance, aiding the Nucor Steel Birmingham division in managing proper visitor, driver, and contractor check-ins/check-outs, and operational efficiency and flow for inbound and outbound loads. These duties shall be performed professionally as this role will be the face of Nucor Steel Birmingham with anyone entering the Nucor facility. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED
Willingness to work unplanned, unscheduled overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
Willingness to work in extreme situations including: hot, cold, and rainy weather, dusty conditions, and fast paced, high pressure environment
