The major goals of the laboratory are to understand the functions of laminin in blood-brain barrier regulation and various neurological disorders, including stroke and Alzheimer's disease. The research programs of the lab are funded by the National Institutes of Health. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, detail-oriented, and collaborative applicant, who can efficiently work in a fast-paced environment.
Position Summary:
The research technician will be responsible for performing genotyping, maintaining mouse colonies, and assisting other researchers with routine lab work, including sectioning, staining, and analyses. The laboratory analyses at this level may involve sophisticated techniques that are generally learned on the job. This position may also analyze data and produce graphs and charts for publication.
Responsibilities:
• Perform genotyping and record the results.
• Maintain mouse colonies.
• Assist other researchers with routine lab work (e.g. sectioning, staining, and analyses).
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of laboratory or research experience. College coursework in natural or physical science may be
substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in rodent handling and genotyping is desirable.
