Summary:



The Specialist Materials position is responsible for the functions regarding BOM Portal and material transitions related to Spec changes and updates. This will include working with Cost/Finance Accounting as well as managing required spec deviations for the plant production BOMS. This will involve being in direct contact with Business Unit and Project Managers, Project Teams, and Technical Services to ensure the smooth transition of projects through defined processes. This position will be a direct backup and involved in Operations Planning of production throughout the supply chain process (Pre-Blend, Production Planning, Materials Management and Formulations). Additionally, this position will be responsible for direct planning of Co-Man demand planning in SAP as well as managing Pre-Blend Meat and Non-Meat ingredients utilizing SAP. Other responsibilities will include aligning shipments and Stock Transfer Orders (STO's) with other Tyson plants and shipping teams, monitor weekly reports, barcode and blending batch sizing, material review and later order reports, creating and maintaining job aids and templates, creating and maintaining standardize work, as well as managing inventory and safety stock metrics.



Our Materials Specialist


would be working 1st Shift Core Hours 6:30AM-3:30PM with some weekend coverage, onsite at our New London Plant in New London, WI.


Although the Salary Rate for this role is based on experience, this role is eligible for 2 weeks of Vacation, Benefits (Medical, Vision, Dental), 5% Annual Incentive Plan & 3.5% Annual Salary Review with an overall opportunity to start or continue your growth with Tyson!




Essential Job Functions:



Provide for the development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth. BOM Portal and Spec Change management. Direct back up to Pre-Blend planning and Formulations. Establish inventory target levels. Monitor inventory movements and age of products. Develop departmental strategies goals and metrics. Other projects as necessary.



Requirements:



  • Education & Experience: Minimum Bachelors Degree CPIM certified or equivalent work experience. A minimum of five 5 -10 years' experience in Materials Management in a manufacturing facility.


  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills that build productive relationships and influences others both within the business and across organizations.


  • Advanced understanding of computer software systems utilized in a manufacturing and distribution environment.


  • Literate in PC-based analytical tools.


  • Advanced to expert level analytical abilities.


  • Working knowledge of MRP systems and JIT processes.


  • Must have a strong track record of collaborating effectively with others in the spirit of common objectives.


  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively multitask in a dynamic and fast paced environment.


  • Must reside in the US as this role does not offer sponsorship.
