Lane College, an NCAA Division II Conference Member invites all qualified candidates to apply for the position of Head Football Coach. The Head Football Coach reports to the Athletic Director (AD) and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising of all phases of the football program, demonstrating a working knowledge of and the ability to comply with NCAA, SIAC Conference and College rules and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and direct athletics skill development for the football student-athletes
Collaboratively work with the AD to hire, evaluate the performance of and assist in the development of the full- and part-time assistant coaches
Create and implement fundamental and position-specific
Develop and implement a plan of a better understanding of the game for each of the student-athletes
Recruit qualified football student-athletes to an academically, faith-based environment.
Monitor student-athlete academic performance and welfare of the student
Advise student-athletes and staff of applicable NCAA rules, regulations and policies, and ensure compliance of such regulations.
Work with budgetary guidelines established by the Athletics Director
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
At least four years of intercollegiate coaching experience
Master's degree is preferred
Knowledge of NCAA rules
Attend all team practices and home/away contests with overnight travel
Lift a minimum of 25lbs, Sit and stand for long periods
Maintain and enhance an inclusive team culture and atmosphere
Requires good interpersonal, organization, leadership, and good writing and presentation skills
Must be Tech savvy/computer friendly
Employment is contingent on successful completion of criminal record check, driving record check, and reference checks
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Prolonged standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, and bending may be required.
Overnight Travel and nights and weekend are required as needed.
