About the Role

Essity’s Health and Medical team is looking for an experienced Strategic Account Manager - Acute. Responsible for implementing sales plans for Top 100 IDN and Health Systems, including national accounts and key market segments. This role involves developing and managing accounts, reviewing sales data, and initiating actions to achieve sales and promotional objectives across the three Therapy Areas of US Medical including Wound Care, Orthopedics/Fracture Management, and Compression. The position represents the company in sales calls and negotiations with key accounts and is responsible for maintaining effective customer relations within assigned accounts. Coordination with Sales Representatives, Regional Sales Managers, and National Sales Directors are essential.

This will be a remote position. The ideal candidate should live near a major US international airport and able to travel often within the aligned Essity Regional structure.

What You Will Do


  • Implement sales plans for major national accounts or key market segments to meet or exceed sales, market share, and distribution objectives.


  • Manage Strategic hospital accounts.


  • Promote Wound Care, Orthopedic/Fracture Management, and Compression products to achieve sales targets.


  • Provide product support and develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders.


  • Develop and maintain US Medical business in target hospitals using Strategic Account Management principles.


  • Work with stakeholders in the preparation and management of hospital contracts.


  • Develop and implement business plans consistent with overall marketing strategies and established budgets.


  • Manage and develop accounts, establishing plans for new market opportunities.


  • Develop annual business plans reflecting brand and category strategies.


  • Establish customer relationships, represent the company in sales, prepare and conduct formal sales presentations, and follow up with customers.


  • Review and evaluate data such as gross margins, competitive activity, and account feedback to ensure effective implementation of sales plans and promotions.


  • Maintain contacts within the company to gather and exchange information related to sales goals, product availability, pricing, marketing strategies, and order status.


  • Monitor competitor activities, trade magazines, and customer feedback to stay informed of significant trends and developments.


  • Assist in special sales projects and promotions as requested.


Who You Are


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.


  • Approximately 5-7 years of progressively responsible sales experience, preferably in medical devices and account management for medium to large IDNs.


  • Demonstrated success in higher-level selling activities.


  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to persuade and compromise.


  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with customers quickly.


  • Experience with product contracting and negotiating high-value contracts.


  • Strategic thinking and initiative with the ability to influence others.


  • Outstanding analytical and financial skills.


  • Creative and innovative problem-solving abilities.


  • Ability to sell the value of corporate relationships.


  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
