Subaru of America, Inc.'s Internship Program provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-world experience related to their major. Course of Study
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Supply Chain Management or Logistics
Term
1 year in length (37.5 hours per week during the summer; ~18-25 hours per week during school year)
Internship to begin in May and end the following May
Location - Subaru Headquarters in Camden, NJ
$20 an hour (undergrad)
Qualifications
Current Juniors, Seniors planning to pursue a Master's Degree, OR students currently enrolled in a Master's Program
Must be an active student for the entire length of internship
At least 1 year of professional work experience
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organization
The ability to display leadership attributes through past coursework or job history
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access) and Microsoft Teams
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Responsibilities
Sales Operations: Support the Vehicle Invoice Pricing (VIP) Family of Programs including:
Assist with coupon redemptions, VIP email inbox, and other admin tasks as needed
Prepare and analyze monthly sales reports as requested
Maintain VIP customer information, retailer profiles, vendor profiles in Subarunet, and provide additional database support as needed
Support IT projects via testing, reporting, and other duties as requested
Logistics: Performance Reporting - Railhead dwell, weekly carrier performance reporting, transportation damage claims reporting, railcar tracking reporting, railroad equipment shortage reporting by origin point, daily shippable ground count reporting, routine ad hoc reporting to assist SOA Logistics Department
Departmental Event Planning: Logistics Conference, Sales Operations Summit, National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, SOA Headquarters (HQ) VIP Program Training, and Incentive Events
Summary
Immersive and hands-on support role to assist Sales Operations, Distribution, VIP, and Logistics Department in day-to-day operations. While not expected to be an expert upon arrival, a desire to learn these areas of a large organization, coupled with a high-degree of attention to detail and analytical prowess, will be the makings of an ideal candidate.
