Job Description:
The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative and clerical support to the College of Liberal Arts Advising Center, supervises student employees, and oversees front desk/reception area operations.
Job Duties:
Oversee front desk operations and foster a professional/student-centered environment in the reception area
Open and close the office at set times
Greet, screen, and route visitors in a courteous manner
Assist students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors by answering questions and/or referring to appropriate campus resource
Answer multi-line telephone, screen and transfer calls, take messages, and refer to other offices as appropriate
Maintain multi-user electronic calendar and schedule appointments for advising center staff
Recruit, screen, and hire staff of student employees
Provide initial and ongoing training to student employees
Create student employee schedules; track and approve pay for student workers
Monitor advising center inbox and respond/forward emails appropriately
Order office supplies, track expenditures, and reconcile budget
Submit facility-related requests, as well as track and perform follow-up
Other duties as assigned
