We are seeking an Originations Quality Manager to lead efforts in improving quality and efficiency within the mortgage originations business. This role involves utilizing Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies to identify, analyze, and implement improvement opportunities. Key responsibilities include working with cross-functional teams, conducting data analysis, leading process improvement projects, and staying informed of industry trends.
Responsibilities:
Utilize Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies to analyze processes and identify improvement opportunities within the residential mortgage and home equity originations business.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, underwriting, closing, risk management, technology) to understand workflows and identify inefficiencies.
Conduct and present data analysis to measure process performance, identify root causes of defects, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Manage the action plan process, including setting objectives, identifying required resources, and monitoring/reporting results to stakeholders.
Lead and facilitate process improvement projects, defining project scope, goals, and developing a detailed roadmap.
Ensure process changes align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain performance metrics to track the effectiveness of process improvements and provide regular updates to management.
Provide training and support on Six Sigma and/or Lean principles to build a culture of continuous improvement.
Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to mortgage and home equity originations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel may be required up to 25%.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
3-5 years of experience in mortgage origination processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Six Sigma certification (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) is highly preferred.
Proven experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating process improvement projects in the mortgage and home equity originations industry.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to transform raw data into structured information to gain insights and identify trends.
Proficiency in Encompass, ACES, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting/analytics tools such as Business Objects and Power BI.
Excellent project management skills, including task prioritization, timeline management, and driving sustainable results.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated proficiency in Six Sigma tools and methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, root cause analysis, statistical process control).
Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and work effectively with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
