Job Description




PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • The assessor performs assessments according to the bluesign® criteria as well as the follow-up for achieving compliance with the bluesign® criteria.

  • The job holder supports brands in the American market in certification of their consumer products and coordinates the quality assurance activities.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Preparation of assessments according to the bluesign® criteria

  • Pre- evaluation of preparation documents

  • Company assessments onsite with report writing and related evaluations

  • Follow-up of roadmap for achieving compliance with the bluesign® criteria (implementation process)

  • Actualization and maintenance of the business process leading IT tool

  • Perform annual follow up assessments to monitor continuous improvement

  • Project work as needed and agreed

  • Evaluate Bill of Materials for consumer products intended for certification

  • Collect samples, organize testing for quality assurance checks including follow-up of potential fails

  • Support customer for web-based platform




Qualifications





  • Educational background: engineering/ natural science/ technical degree, ideally textile related (e.g. textile engineer, chemical engineer, environmental scientist or similar)

  • Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and/or chemical processes and the textile supply chain

  • Knowledge in the field of product stewardship, classification and labelling as well as regulatory affairs

  • Knowledge in the fields of environment, health and safety

  • Knowledge in the field of assessment practices

  • Professional experience within the textile, accessory or chemical manufacturing sector

  • Good English skills (especially written)

  • Good communicator, who enjoys working in teams and in multi-cultural settings

  • Team player player with proven ability to work independently

  • Ability to exercise good and fact-based assessments

  • Ability to work under pressure and with good time management




Additional Information



Position can be remote within US with availability to visit clients (up to 30% of time).


Salary range: 51800- 69000 USD gross pa+ annual bonus (5%)
