Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The assessor performs assessments according to the bluesign® criteria as well as the follow-up for achieving compliance with the bluesign® criteria.
The job holder supports brands in the American market in certification of their consumer products and coordinates the quality assurance activities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of assessments according to the bluesign® criteria
Pre- evaluation of preparation documents
Company assessments onsite with report writing and related evaluations
Follow-up of roadmap for achieving compliance with the bluesign® criteria (implementation process)
Actualization and maintenance of the business process leading IT tool
Perform annual follow up assessments to monitor continuous improvement
Project work as needed and agreed
Evaluate Bill of Materials for consumer products intended for certification
Collect samples, organize testing for quality assurance checks including follow-up of potential fails
Support customer for web-based platform
Qualifications
Educational background: engineering/ natural science/ technical degree, ideally textile related (e.g. textile engineer, chemical engineer, environmental scientist or similar)
Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and/or chemical processes and the textile supply chain
Knowledge in the field of product stewardship, classification and labelling as well as regulatory affairs
Knowledge in the fields of environment, health and safety
Knowledge in the field of assessment practices
Professional experience within the textile, accessory or chemical manufacturing sector
Good English skills (especially written)

Team player player with proven ability to work independently
Ability to exercise good and fact-based assessments
Ability to work under pressure and with good time management
Additional Information
Position can be remote within US with availability to visit clients (up to 30% of time).
