Job Description Summary: The OT Infrastructure Systems Engineer is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Servers in a field environment; ensuring system reliability; and effective collaboration with internal and external technical teams.
This is an onsite position in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintenance
Perform server rebuilds as part of a strategic project to modernize aging server infrastructure at solar facilities
Conduct thorough assessments and execute necessary upgrades to enhance system reliability and performance
Remotely troubleshoot server faults, collaborating with on-site technicians as needed
Regularly apply patches, updates, and perform security audits to maintain server integrity and compliance
Schedule routine system audits, manage backups, and ensure failover readiness to support plant operations
Proactively monitor server performance using tools like SolarWinds and Splunk, addressing potential issues promptly
Monitor equipment lifecycle and make recommendations for upgrades based on age and/or device health
Team Collaboration
Collaborate across functions to seamlessly implement server rebuilds and align infrastructure goals with organizational objectives
Work closely with Project Management and engineering teams to promptly address and resolve issues
Participate in cross-functional meetings to foster effective communication and problem-solving
Identify appropriate escalation paths for troubleshooting complex issues
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, procedures, and changes
Prepare reports on server performance, incidents, and maintenance activities
Log, track, and resolve ongoing support requests via our ticket and work order management system
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:
Education/Work Experience
Associates or Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology - Preferred but not required
Minimum 5 years of verifiable work experience in the Information Technology field as a systems administrator
Technical Expertise
Proven experience in setting up and managing Windows Server Failover Clusters
Virtualization support technologies such as MPIO, iSCSI, NIC Teaming
Windows Fleet Management support such as Active Directory, LDAP, Group Policy
Strong understanding of server hardware, SAN/vSAN, RAID Arrays
Familiarity with industrial network protocols and network equipment is preferred, but not required
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): PowerShell, Ansible, Docker - Preferred but not required
