Director DBS Leader, Bothell Operations at Cepheid

Job Description:


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



  • Develop and manage the execution of the Bothell site DBS roadmap to ensure best in class performance in Operations and R&D


  • Create and Lead the prioritized Bothell Kaizen Funnel process to close appropriate PD, CVD and KPI gaps.



  • Create and manage the DBS Certification Plan for Bothell Site needs including the necessary DBS Competency & Capacity planning & Execution .


  • Co-lead site Playbook Assessment for operations and Supply Chain as well as Innovation maturity with the Danaher Business Systems Office to Develop a prioritized short-term and long-term actions with Visual & Daily Management process installed to drive improvement.


  • Effectively coach and mentor Leadership throughout all Bothell functions (Ops, R&D, Quality and Supply chain) for engagement in the continuous improvement DBS process


  • Apply 'Systemic-thinking,' beyond just local solutions to challenge cross-functional teams to produce pragmatic DBS-based solutions that sustain.

  • Effectively engage leaders throughout Supply Chain L1/L2 to drive change with DMS Principles (e.g., Visibility & Linearity) across Geographies for the good of - Customer, Shareholder and OpCo.




The essential requirements of the job include:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business with 10+ years of experience or Master's degree with 8-10 years

  • Minimum of 5 years working in Operations, Manufacturing and/or Supply Chain environment

  • 3-5 years of experience in managing and leading a team

  • Knowledge of DBS Fundamentals, in LEAN /Innovation

  • Extensive experience in driving cross-functional improvements using DBS, Lean and other continuous improvement tools

  • Deep knowledge in Supply Chain and Manufacturing across different industries

  • Management and coaching of senior leaders, other DBSLs and DBS specialists

  • This role will need to travel periodically to other Manufacturing sites​




It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:



  • DBS Certified Practitioner (CP) in DBS Fundamentals and Lean Tools

  • Experience in medical equipment/diagnostic technology companies

  • Expertise in Innovation in a chemistry R7D setting

The position is being hired as onsite Sunnyvale, CA.

The salary range for this role is $185,000 - $215,000 USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.


This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
