Job Description



TheLab Operations Manager is accountable for coordinating day-to-day activities of PLM, TEM, PCM, IAQ, and Metals analysts, implementing effective QC, maintaining good records per accreditation bodies' requirement, and closely collaborating with customer service, sales, clients, and leadership to ensure operational and service excellence.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Maintain our AIHA ELLAP, AIHA PT, NVLAP accreditations and State certifications by ensuring audit preparedness of all programs

  • Ensure meeting customer turnaround time

  • Serve as QC manager; Record and monitor monthly production and QC reports

  • Hire, train, retain, and develop team members

  • Ensure daily production, service levels, and safety metrics are achieved

  • Perform sample analysis in one main discipline routinely

  • Implement and maintain inventory management system

  • Administer Environmental Health and Safety program and ensure it is adhered to by all staff and visitors

  • Day-to-day coordination, hiring, training, scheduling, measuring KPIs, coaching and development

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities

  • Support new method development




Qualifications



  • BS/BA in Life or physical science, or related field

  • 1-3 years' experience of asbestos, mold, or metals analysis (PLM, TEM, direct microscopy, FAA)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Computer literate (Office suite, Adobe PDF, LIMS)

  • Problem-solving, solution orientation

  • Strong interpersonal skills (people, social, emotional intelligence)

  • Self-motivated and Proactivity

  • Detail-oriented, especially with accurate record-keeping

  • Organize and balance shifting priorities

Additional Information



This individual will oversee ourFort Mill, SC Built Environment Testing laboratories.


This role has a salary range of $55,000-$65,000 K with health, dental and vision benefits as well as a company matching 401K plan and PTO plan.
