Job Description:

This Strategic Sourcing Manager will have a focus on Facilities and Maintenance as a category book of business. They will partner with an internal Facilities stakeholder to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for maintenance and facilities services contracts to achieve organizational goals and manage contract life cycle performance. This includes establishing a sourcing calendar, identifying savings opportunities, performing market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, assess market trends, conduct RFI/RFP events, negotiating, and benchmark pricing.

This position will also be responsible to cultivate and maintain strong vendor relationships to monitor and optimize supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and service level agreements. They will serve as subject matter experts (SME) on facilities and maintenance sourcing strategies, advising on key trends, opportunities, and challenges. And will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and finance, to understand needs and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.


  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred. IFMA (International Facility Management Association) certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: 6- 10 Years equivalent experience.


  • Experience managing facilities management or maintenance sourcing contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of managing contracts and supplier relationships in facilities and maintenance services.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, manage and participate on project teams with shared responsibility for outcomes.
  • Results oriented and data driven approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing business requirements and develop/execute tactical & strategic plans to meet business needs.
  • Strong research, writing and communication skills.
  • Resourcefulness and creativity.
  • High proficiency with Excel and strong technical aptitude.

  • Category Management
  • Through collaboration with a Facilities Stakeholder, develop and implement contract category strategic plans for facilities management, building maintenance, janitorial services, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, landscaping, and other related services.
  • Create annual bid calendar.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies through process improvement, strategic partnerships, and market analysis.
  • Develop policies, procedures and implement best practices in category management.
  • Understand new technology and the impact to strategic plans within the category.
  • Analyze data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of sourcing strategies and identify areas for improvement

  • Vendor/Contract Management

    • Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and service providers, ensuring high levels of performance and service delivery.
    • Monitor and optimize supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contract terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct periodic reviews of contracts and vendor performance to ensure cost competitiveness and identify opportunities for renegotiation or alternative solutions.
    • Create and maintain service contract repository.


  • Negotiations/Contract Management

    • Lead the vendor selection process, including market research.
    • Conduct category assessment and stakeholder meetings to determine initiative strategies.
    • Conduct RFPs, RFQs, contract negotiations, and bid analysis.
    • Creation and presentation of Project Executive Overview.


  • Other duties as assigned

    • Partner with internal stakeholders including facilities management, real estate, operations, legal, and finance teams to align sourcing strategies with organizational needs and goals.
    • Incumbents will be assigned to one or more of these additional areas in addition to their assigned supply chain category management duties.
