Job Description:

As a full-time Reference Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for services in support of the lab as it specifically relates to the University of Washington reference lab. You will receive, process and ship laboratory specimens for testing at the University of Washington reference laboratory. In this role you will: process routine and stat testing, perform lab report retrieval, distribution & filing, and other lab clerical purposes as it relates to University of Washington reference lab.

Hiring range is between $19.60-$23.50 per hour, and placement in the range is based on an evaluation of experience. :: Differential Available: Evening, after 5:30p ($3.00/hour)

Available Schedules :


  • Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 10:00a-6:00p

  • Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 2:00p-10:30p

Skills and Abilities:


  • Able to consistently demonstrate essential clinical competencies for this role

  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and provide excellent customer service

  • Must ensure accurate/timely data entry, scanning, and faxing

  • Must be able to troubleshoot, prioritize specimens, and be flexible

  • Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills, and able to multitask

  • Must be able to distinguish colors and shades

  • Must ensure correct patient identification/labeling of specimens

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of two years' experience working in a healthcare, laboratory, and/or combination of education and experience in phlebotomy/lab sciences preferred

Pay Range:
$19.22 - $26.91
