SUMMARY
The Wayfinder welcomes all employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, volunteers and any other individuals entering the facility. The position assists with the improvement of the overall patient/visitor experience, especially during in high volume areas and during peak times. The Wayfinder may answer wayfinding and directional questions, walk people to elevators and other key waypoints, and other similar activities that create a warm, friendly, and caring welcome.

LOCATION: ROCHESTER GENERAL HOSPITAL
DEPARTMENT: VOLUNTEER & GUEST SERVICES
SCHEDULE: - 6AM - 230 PM and/or 1130AM - 8PM
Rotating weekends and holidays

Customer service experience preferred.
Warm, positive and welcome towards all individuals entering the facility.
Strong attention to detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with team member, physician, patient and visitor inquiries.
Greets patients and visitors, and provides direction as need with a positive, warm and welcoming attitude.
Escorts patients and visitors to main waypoints, such as elevators, main hallways, floors, etc.
Answers incoming calls and in person inquires.
Assists staff (e.g., Clinical and/or Central Patient Transport) with patient discharges which may include documenting patient drop off time.
Provides wheelchair assistance to patients being discharged, waiting with patients for transportation, and assisting patients to the vehicle.
Utilizes appropriate software systems, including Care Connect, to assist visitors in navigating the campus.
Ensures visitors and patients comply with appropriate health protocols, including proper PPE's.
Documents all deliveries intended for patients from outside sources (e.g., floral arrangements, gifts, etc.) and facilitates timely delivery to patient rooms.
Contacts and assists security with patient belongings and lost/found.
Maintain wheelchair par levels by rounding for wheelchairs and/or collaborating with Information Desk staff.
Dependent upon assigned work location, may also assist with visitor check-in.
Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture, surfaces and woodwork in the entrance/waiting area following established procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned, including special projects and routine clerical tasks to support the team and facility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $15.50 - $16.43
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
