Electronic Systems Project Engineer, SPD & VAVE Systems

Opportunity
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Electronic Systes Project Engineer, SPD & VAVE is responsible for:
Developing advanced controls technologies and algorithms
Creating system level requirements for controller development
Identify and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
Developing and documenting intellectual property (IP) including patent protection
Developing technical subject matter expertise in system level generator communications, paralleling, voltage regulation or similar functions
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, analyze and document electrical system architectures
Work in a cross-functional team environment to develop and document system requirements and specifications
Develop, analyze and document generator controller electrical schematics to support controller integration
Work in a cross-functional team environment to develop and document electronic controls system level performance specifications
Use modeling and simulation techniques applicable to the industry
Create innovative system level designs for use in current and future projects
Work in a cross-functional team environment to document system risk analysis
Use technical expertise in generator systems to provide feedback during team design reviews
Work closely with patent lawyers to develop patentable ideas and workaround solutions for existing patents
Investigate, resolve and document generator system technical issues
Discuss with external technical experts and upper management levels the advantages and disadvantages of new technical concepts applicable to Rehlko Power Systems
Develop and share technical expertise with professional societies and associations
Work on special technical projects as required by the needs of the department
Skills/Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 2-4 years of related work experience; or B.S. in Engineering and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited program and 2 years of related work experience
Ability to lead and complete multiple projects in a timely fashion
Basic knowledge of C and C++ or an equivalent high-level programming language
Basic knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
Working knowledge of any of the following a plus:
PSPICE, OrCAD, Verilog, VHDL, PLC programming and design, Microsoft Project, Agile and waterfall approaches.

A working knowledge of Rehlko's controller software architectures, algorithms, and state machines
Working knowledge of processor, memory, and communication technologies
Working knowledge of Operating systems and applications design.
A broad base of power system industry knowledge including common methods of wiring, grounding, paralleling, load management and industry accepted control topologies and communication techniques.
Working knowledge of one or more of the following communication protocols: Modbus, CAN, I2C, SPI and wireless communication protocol is a plus.
Working understanding of switchgear applications and control topologies
Working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards as well as an understanding of standards roadmaps

The salary range for this position is $83300 - $105200. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
