Wood's Consulting business is presently recruiting for a Principal Materials and Integrity Consultant to join our team in Houston, TX.
This is an opportunity to take an expert role in Assessing and Resolving Material and Corrosion Issues, Supporting Mechanical Integrity Programs, Assessing Equipment Fitness for Purpose, and providing general support to Life Extension and Condition Assessment Projects to ensure the safe and efficient operation of various facilities in the energy and petrochemical industries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide materials and corrosion related expertise and recommendations.
Produce material selection designs/reports.
Lead or Advise studies regarding Risk Based Inspection and fitness assessment of pressurized equipment
Define and recommend appropriate inspection techniques and development of inspection work plans when needed
Produce engineering calculations based on engineering concepts and API/ASME standards
Implement RBI commercial software and manage quality of data
Write technical reports based on assessments, calculations and inspections
Provide consultancy internally and externally on specialist IM discipline in RBI, Fitness for Service, and or Materials and Corrosion
Liaise with specialized engineering disciplines for resolution of integrity related concerns
Travel when required to client locations to coordinate project work, perform assessments, interact with NDE Technicians and Inspectors to collect the information needed for the mechanical integrity assessments
Compliance with the company's Quality and HSE policies
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree (Mechanical Engineer or related degree)
A minimum of 20 years of diverse, mechanical integrity-oriented experience in the Oil & Gas business
Must have at least 10 years of experience in a client-facing role
Thorough understanding of Integrity Management, the RBI process, NDE, Fitness for Service, and Materials/Corrosion
Knowledge of current construction codes of pressure vessels, piping, and tanks
Excellent communication (written and spoken) with the ability to write high quality technical reports
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with clients and other disciplines.
Demonstrated experience with integrity management databases
Able/willing to travel for short periods of time (3 to 4 weeks)
Willingness to develop a wide range of skills and flexibility to work on a variety of projects.
Proficiency with corrosion modeling programs preferred.
