SUMMARY:
Maintenance Generalist are responsible for but not limited to:
Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Provide troubleshooting and repair of any mechanical malfunction
Prepare written documentation of actions taken to correct equipment problems
Responds to mechanical or electrical breakdowns and handle emergency situations
Lubricate equipment with various grease and oils
Perform preventive maintenance according to schedule
Complete appropriate paperwork and reports
Must comply with lockout/ tagout, confined space, and all other safety programs
Must be able to perform mechanical and basic electrical trouble shooting and repairs
Able to perform diagnosis and repairs without supervision
Capable of starting all equipment before production startup and shutdown without supervision
Ability to assist with other mechanics as needed
Perform janitorial services if needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Work in temperature that will vary with outside ambient temperatures and humidity. It can be dusty, warm, and humid.
Must be willing to complete all required training for the job and perform any other duties assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum experience of two years in Maintenance or Maintenance related field certificate
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to read and write with reading comprehension
Possess basic math skills
Basic computer skills required
Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
This position will require standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, stooping and the ability to climb ladders.
Position may involve heavy lifting 50-70 lbs. or more.
Must be willing to work in damp, cold or hot environments, reach above shoulder level.
Must be able to perform all duties of the position
Be willing to stand 8- 10 hours a day.
Must wear PPE, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair net and beard guard.
Must have or be able to obtain Tyson operator's license for pallet jack or forklift, if necessary
Ability to understand technical mechanical concepts
Excellent communication skills
Strong organization skills
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements:
• The jobsite is a biosecure environment and could require showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company.
No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry.
Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Will be trained to recognize and comply with all Safety procedures.
