The Simulation Coordinator collaborates with the Allied Health and Nursing Division members in performing duties essential to the achievement of the departmental goals for simulation. The main purpose of this position is to function as a planner, developer, consultant, coordinator, or resource person to faculty involved with simulation. This position requires technical expertise and health program understanding to enhance quality lab simulation instruction.

1. Works with the Allied Health and Nursing faculty to manage and administer the simulation laboratories by: a. Advising and consulting with the simulation faculty members, b. Establishing and updating policies and standard practices related to the use of simulation technology, c. Establishes and monitors procedures for signing out of simulation lab equipment and movement of simulation equipment from one lab area to another, d. If time permits, assist faculty in developing, presenting, evaluating and refining scenarios utilized for simulation experiences utilizing role playing, props and dialogue to create a realistic learning environment.
2. Maintains the simulation inventory system by: a. Ensuring the completion of an annual simulation equipment inventory of both Allied Health and Nursing, b. Determining the simulation inventory needs for the Allied Health and Nursing Simulation Laboratories in conjunction with the associated program faculty and instructional assistants, c. Scheduling use of the simulation lab/equipment.
3. Participates in and contributes to the upkeep of Allied Health and Nursing Simulation Laboratories by: a. Providing advice & orientation to instructors regarding simulation laboratory procedures, location and use of materials, and the operation of equipment, b. Oversee and coordinate required maintenance or repairs of equipment in the Allied Health and Nursing simulation laboratories.
4. Contributes to the learning needs of faculty in Allied Health and Nursing programs by: a. Serving as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation instruction in classroom/lab activities, b. Coordinating training of faculty in the use of the simulation instruction, c. Working with simulation manufacturer(s) to acquire advanced knowledge in high-fidelity simulation and emerging technologies.

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Allied Health or Nursing (RN) field
Previous simulation experience.
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or must be willing to obtain.
Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Allied Health discipline or Nursing (RN).
Strong leadership skills that promote dedication, creativity, innovation and growth.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to employees, faculty, staff, and community groups.
Ability to set priorities on own initiative.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access [required].

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. The employee will routinely operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, keyboards, mouse, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Will also operate in a lab setting and may use standard lab equipment such as beakers, test tubes, flasks, thermometers. Occasionally the employee is exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) clothing and protective equipment such as masks, glasses and gloves. May prepare materials needed to conduct a laboratory demonstration and may need to detect and distinguish samples for lab tests.
