Role Summary:
KB Signaling is hiring a Supplier Quality Engineer supporting locations in Warrensburg, MO and Grain Valley, MO. This role will support both Missouri facilities. Join a dynamic fast-paced manufacturing and supply chain environment. Various levels of experience will be considered for this position. Must be able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. This is a hybrid position and is expected to be on-site Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Responsibilities:
Perform supplier audits according to supplier audit schedule defined by quality and sourcing leadership
Assess supplier qualifications and provide input to sourcing
Execute production part approval process according to supply chain needs
Manage the serial life of parts supplied by assigned suppliers
Support containment and rework activities driven by non-conforming conditions
Drive non-conformance root cause analysis and corrective action process with supplier and internal teams
Maintain supplier status and communicate issues requiring escalation through appropriate channel
Lead major 8D/corrective action investigations with suppliers and internal teams
Build positive working relationships with internal teams; sourcing, supply chain, industrial, safety
Communicate key performance indicators as assigned by manager
Travel to suppliers as needed for part validation, corrective action and business reviews
Identify and complete two improvement projects per year
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology or related field
Strong written and oral communication skills
Supply chain experience and basic understanding of supply chain theories
Basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) experience and ability to read engineering specifications
Desired Characteristics:
Team player – must be able to work with diverse work force and various disciplines
Displays maturity and high level of professionalism
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Basic SAP experience
Basic understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
