The Senior Systems Engineer will aid the Program Manager in supporting the PMA 266 customer and in the execution of assigned engineering duties.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) activities using commercial MBSE tools to identify program requirements and relationships, and manage the execution of the systems engineering process, including interfaces, key performance parameters, operational concepts, logical architectures and physical architectures.
Elicits and captures stakeholder needs in models.
Develops and extends system models using existing requirements, interface documentation, and related design and systems engineering documents.
Provide MBSE/SysML expertise and related support to the entire systems engineering team.
Participates in converting from document-based to model-based architectures, participate in refactoring of existing models.
Model-based engineering tool skills including knowledge and formation of SysML diagram types and their interaction and applications, and tools to implement them.
Follow an approved systems engineering process. Perform a range of design development or analysis tasks under minimal supervision.
Act as a lead on complex tasks and responsible for a portion of a design or section of an analysis or design review.
Generate complete model-based design specifications of more complex projects.
Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements.
Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.
Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
Direct interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.
Conduct site visits and investigate engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.
Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communications and analytical skills required.
Experience with modeling and simulation tool sets and software.
Experience in creating Modeling and Simulation reports that analyze past performance and predict future performance of relevant systems using modern modeling and simulation techniques.
Experience in producing systems engineering analysis reports that detail requirements analysis, analysis of alternative, system architecture and definition, and system integration and test.
Familiarity with materials analyses.
Experience in risk analysis and risk analysis Reports.
Familiarity with current best practices for 2D and 3D CAD modeling.
Experience in providing engineering design analysis to identify problems that may affect a component or systems performance in the field.
Familiarity with DOD Acquisition Life Cycle.
Experience with No Magic CameoTM modeling toolsets, MATLAB, SIMULINK, Systems Tool Kit, and/or Solid Works.
Education, Experience and Certifications Required:
Minimum:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related STEM discipline.
10-12 years of relevant work experience.
Must be a U.S citizen. Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in engineering or related STEM discipline.
Preferred degree in Computer Science, Physics, Math, or Electrical Engineering
15+ years experience in the field or related area.
