Job Description:

The Department of Chemistry at Roger Williams University, an ACS approved program, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in Analytical Chemistry to begin Fall of 2025. Teaching responsibilities include Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, and General Chemistry. Research with undergraduate students is expected and supported. Review of complete applications will begin on or before December 2 and will continue until the position is filled.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teaching responsibilities will include Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Chemistry, and General Chemistry lecture and associated laboratories.
  • Establish a laboratory based undergraduate research program in analytical chemistry. Communicate results through peer-reviewed papers, presentations, and other communications appropriate to the discipline. Pursue external funding.
  • Provide academic and career advising and mentoring to undergraduate students.
  • Engage with the department, university initiatives, and the greater STEM community through service and other forms of academic citizenship.
  • Candidates with areas of expertise that complement existing areas of strengths and instrumentation within the department are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates who can easily integrate an Agilent Ulitivo Triple quad LCMS system into their teaching and research are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
