The Art and Design Department seeks a professional and reliable Live Figure Model to pose for studio art courses. The model will be asked to pose in a variety of positions, including standing, sitting, or reclining, for three-hour sessions, in a respectful and professional environment.

Posing will be done in the nude to assist students in studying human anatomy, proportion, and the use of the figure in artistic practice. This position requires a high level of professionalism, comfort with posing in a nude context, and an understanding of the importance of supporting students' learning in figure drawing and art studies.

Typical Qualifications

• Male, female, or non-binary model needed with ability to maintain poses for a prolonged period of time.

• Must feel comfortable modeling without clothes for a class of 10 students.

• Diverse models–all races, body types, and ages are encouraged to apply.

The amount of time for which services are needed is not usually predictable and payment for work performed is on an hourly basis and based on actual hours worked. Workdays and hours may vary according to departmental requirements. Extra Help employees do not receive SIUE benefits, holiday pay or paid sick or vacation leave.
Extra Help employees are required by State Universities Civil Service System rules to take a 30-calendar-day break after working 900 hours. At the end of the 30 days, you may begin another 900-hour employment cycle in a new position if available. Working Extra Help will in no way affect any other employment opportunities with SIUE, including your position on and Civil Service register. There is no guarantee that working as Extra Help will lead to or secure permanent employment.

Additional Information: This position does not offer work authorization sponsorship. International students at SIUE on F-1 or J-1 visas are not eligible for full-time or part-time civil service positions with permanent status. F-1 and J-1 visa holders must be enrolled full-time and can only apply for temporary part-time roles working 20 hours or less per week during spring and fall semesters, such as student worker positions, assistantships, and civil service extra help roles.
