UChicagoGRAD, a part of the Office of the Provost that supports graduate education across the University, is an innovative national model for preparing graduate students and postdocs to succeed while at UChicago and beyond. With teams focusing on admissions, fellowship advising, writing support and public speaking training, diversity initiatives, career exploration and planning, and administration, UChicagoGRAD works with campus partners to support students and postdocs at every stage of their academic careers and beyond. UChicagoGRAD functions as a one-stop shop for graduate students and postdocs to access resources that support timely degree completion and to enhance professional preparation that helps them translate their degrees into a variety of careers. UChicagoGRAD works with academic departments and divisions as well as campus-wide offices to develop and implement outreach, recruitment, and yield efforts; graduate and postdoc-focused programs, workshops, and events; training and support tailored to UChicago graduate students and postdocs; and administrative practices and policies in support of graduate education.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Experiential Education and Outreach, the Assistant Director of Programming and Outreach will play a key role in supporting the career development of master's students from all divisions at the University of Chicago. The AD will develop and execute a variety of professional development programing, including career fairs, employer information sessions, skill-building workshops, and alumni engagement events.
Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate skill-building and experiential learning programs that prepare graduate students for interactions with employers and alumni.
Use knowledge of pedagogical tools and program facilitation best practices to help students achieve goals.
Create and administer alumni mentorship program in support of graduate students' career development.
Contribute to the conceptualization and planning of large-scale events serving master's students, including career fairs and career exploration conferences.
Build and maintain relationships with employers and alumni.
Plan employer site visits (treks) and other tailored employer engagement opportunities.
Support the tracking and sharing of program outcomes via data collection and reporting.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with other team members and campus partners.
Contribute to other team-wide initiatives in support of graduate students' professional development.
Develops original content for career related publications and assists with the editing and distribution of Career Services communications materials.
Provides guidance and training to student career counselor interns.
Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.

Experience:
Experience in higher education or in a student-service setting.

Knowledge of presentation tools, including Microsoft PowerPoint.
Knowledge of basic data analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of basic design platforms, including Canva.
Knowledge of CRM platforms and/or CSM.
Preferred Competencies
Understands and can apply appropriate pedagogical tools to create skill-building workshops and other presentations (in-person and/or virtual).
Creates presentation slides that follow best design and content practices.
Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
