GTMR, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer/Systems Administrator (Mid-Level) to join our family. In this role you will plan and execute all system administrative activities, coordinate and communicate with Program Management and Lead Engineers. The position will be located at our customer site at NAS Patuxent River MD. In this position, you will work our customer’s Compressed Work Schedule which consists of working four 9hour days (M-Th) and an 8-hour day (F) for the first week of a cycle followed by four 9-hour days (M-Th) and being off on the second Friday for the second week of a cycle. This results in a 3-day weekend every other week!
Position Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure in special mission aircraft, ground mission support facilities and laboratories.
Provide network integration support during the test and evaluation of new technologies.
Train military, civilian, and CSS support users on the use of network resources.
Provide Tier Three (T3) support to operational platforms and deployed technicians.
Ensure cybersecurity best practices are adhered to throughout the development and implementation of networked systems.
Perform on-aircraft network grooming and integration with native aircraft systems.
Evaluate and monitor LAN and WAN interfaces with commercial and government satellite communications systems.
Work with Information Assurance (IA) Team to ensure any and all vulnerabilities are mitigated as they arise.
Communicate effectively with users and other Special Mission Aircraft technicians and staff to resolve network issues.
Create and maintain network documentation, including diagrams of network architecture.
Plan and implement network upgrades and expansion projects. Create project plans and task flows for the project.
Monitor network performance and identify potential bottlenecks.
Work with military, government, and commercial technicians to resolve hardware and software issues.
Work in a team environment, communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members.
Required Experience
6+ Years of experience as Network Engineer in a tactical environment
US DoD TS Clearance, SSBI/SBPR/PPR (within 5 years), with the ability to obtain SCI required access and maintain CI Poly
Security + CE Certification is required within 6 months and must be maintained
Experience with Cisco IOS, Ruckus ICX, VMware ESXI, Cisco UCS
Experience with MIL SATCOM & Commercial SATCOM service providers with airborne equipment.
Experience with cryptographic equipment setup
Preferred Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited institution (Preferred but not required)
Highly desired experience includes MIL SATCOM, Commercial SATCOM, ELINT, COMINT, FISINT, WAN, Ethernet Cabling, Fiber Optic Cabling, Mil STD 1553B interfaces, INS and GPS interfaces, ability to troubleshoot across multiple subsystems, integration and test.
Highly desired experience includes working with EDM satcom terminals and ARSTRAT certification and testing process
Work shifts are variable and could include day/evening/night. Possible weekend work may be necessary depending on customer requirements and schedules.
