Brief Job Summary:
The Refrigeration Technician is responsible for operation, inspection, and repair of Industrial Refrigeration systems in a Frozen Food Manufacturing Environment in accordance with local, state and federal building codes. Technicians must abide by all required safety regulations, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist in maintaining documentation as applicable for record keeping purposes. Troubleshoot, maintain and manage both Commercial HVAC and Industrial Freon systems.
Read and interpret schematics, P&ID drawings, Blueprints, and flow diagrams.
Oversee contractor worker(s) on larger repairs as necessary.
Strong aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues Awareness and knowledge of surroundings in relation to climate atmosphere, and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned
Essential Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
6 months work experience within the last 12 months to be considered for this position.
3 - 5 years Industrial HVAC experience OR a combination of work experience and education in Industrial Maintenance, Refrigeration or equivalent from a Vocational or Trade School; two or four year college degree preferred Within one year of employment, technician will need appropriate certifications to purchase Freon and charge systems.
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and refrigeration instructions and procedure manuals.
Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must be able to work independently and part of a team.
Ability to handle multiple and complex tasks.
Must have effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.
Must be able to stand for the duration of shift Able to lift 50 pounds

Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to do the following:
Work near moving mechanical parts. Be exposed to wet or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat. Work where the noise level is usually moderate to high.
Required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance of other employees.
Work from a ladder or a man lift at heights greater than 20 feet
Work Schedule:
2nd shift rotating schedule, some weekend work and occasional overtime required.
