Job Summary:

In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Director of Global Engagement to manage and implement key initiatives, including the Global Mavericks Award Program and the Language and Cultural Exchange Program. You will serve as a vital liaison with campus stakeholders, assist in delivering intercultural trainings and assessments, supervise a team of student employees, play an active role in international student orientations, and promote Global Engagement opportunities to the wider campus community.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Oversee implementation of the Global Mavericks intercultural certificate program including recruitment of new participants, orienting students, managing communications, organizing events, tracking progress, conducting a recognition ceremony for program completion, and assessment.

  • Oversee implementation of the Language Exchange Program including the application process, participant recruitment, collaborating with campus stakeholders, orienting new students, assigning partnerships, and assessment of program outcomes.

  • Conduct intercultural trainings for student audiences and assist Director of Global Engagement with intercultural assessments using the Intercultural Effectiveness Scale and Intercultural Development Inventory.

  • Develop and manage student-led Global Mavericks Advisory Board.

  • Create and update publications, marketing materials, and website information for Global Engagement initiatives.

  • Recruit, hire, train and supervise student employees.

  • Assist with current and new Global Engagement initiatives such as International Education Week, I-Week, International Career Week, and other tasks as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or four (4) year's previous relevant experience working with US and international students from different backgrounds

  • Experience conducting intercultural training and assessment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in a related field.

  • Familiarity and experience with intercultural assessment such as the intercultural development inventory and intercultural effectiveness scale, teaching and facilitation.

  • Demonstrated experience traveling, living, or working in a different country and culture, with an understanding of global perspectives and intercultural dynamics.

  • Experience working in a university's Office of International Education or a comparable department.

  • Experience with photoshop, publisher, or other desktop publishing software.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to represent the Global Engagement department in university meetings, events, and initiatives, and serve as a key liaison across campus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Demonstrates creativity, innovation, and the ability to take initiative, while working
    independently to achieve goals and solve problems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and marketing and
    recruitment strategies.

  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing responsibilities, and handling logistics effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in creating engaging marketing and promotional content using Adobe Creative Cloud, Mailchimp, Canva, or similar design and publishing platforms.


Working Conditions:



  • Spends a good amount of time standing or moving around for events and presentations.
