Job Description Summary
Manage the pre- and post-award processes for a diverse grant portfolio. This includes complex grants including clinical research grants and projects with multiple sub-contracts. Work closely with and advise faculty in managing proposal development, budget development, proposal submission, J.I.T.'s, progress report preparation, correspondence with sponsors, and related pre-award activities. Manage post award activities including account setup, monitor and review of all sponsored projects expenditures, reconciliation of accounts, processing payroll, financial reporting, and fund projections. Maintain salary grids, assist in the preparation of effort reports, and actively participate in specific projects, including the annual budget development process. Monitor and enforce compliance with sponsor guidelines and OMB Uniform Guidance.

The Grants Manager will report to the Associate Director of Administration and Finance, Renal Division, Department of Medicine.
Grants Manager B: The GM B will work more independently and actively participate in specific projects, including the annual budget submission. The GM B will have a greater grants management experience than the GM A, such that s/he can make greater contributions, including engaging in more complex financial analysis.
Qualifications
Grants Manager A: Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Grants Manager B: Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
