Seasonal Only Position - Anticipated the need through the end of February.
SUMMARY: This position is located at the Company owned farms and works directly with the Farm Manager and co-workers to prepare chicken houses for the arrival of new chicks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare chicken houses for clean-out
Prepare chicken houses for placement and place chicks
Operate litter conditioning machine and manure spreader
Master and practice essential farm animal husbandry
Conduct minor maintenance on farm equipment
Outdoor duties include: mowing, weed spraying and grass trimming
Adhere to all Animal Welfare Standards and biosecurity program regulations
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work and operate farm tractor, skid steer, weed eater and all other equipment safely and effectively
Ability to provide minor maintenance on all farm equipment
Ability to use time wisely while working independently
Willingness to function as part of a team and work toward team goals
Good observation skills and attention to detail, eager to learn new ideas
Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required
Physical Requirements / Environment:
Occasionally (1-3 hrs.): crawl, crouch, kneel, squat or balance
Frequently (3-6 hrs.): lift/carry push/pull (up to 45 lbs.), simple/firm grasping, reaching at shoulder height or slightly above, bend/stoop, fine manipulation/hand tools, climb working at unprotected heights when on a ladder
Continuously (6-8 hrs.): stand/walk, work around moving machinery, exposed to marked changes in temperature; outside in varied weather conditions, indoors in a regulated environment, around and amongst poultry dust, odor and blood, as well as fumes, talk and hear, use 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses
Requirements: 6-month Production experience listed on the application (can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 6 months).
Rehire Consideration:
Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered.
90 days (3 months) waiting period.
