The Office Office of Economic Assistance and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking an enthusiastic Administrative Technician for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Collector. In this vital role, you'll contribute to the efficient operation of our SNAP program, ensuring clients and service providers receive the support they need.
Job Summary: The Administrative Technician for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Collector will play a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of the DHHS. This position is responsible for work to support clients and service providers with payments and is responsible for all aspects of the SNAP program debt collection.
Wage: $17.498
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 -5
Dress Attire: Business Casual
Key Responsibilities:
SNAP Collections:
Respond to inquiries regarding SNAP debts and the collection process.
Negotiate and monitor payment arrangements for SNAP debt collections in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Conduct regular reviews of outstanding debts and set up repayment plans through the eligibility system.
Maintain and update debt records with detailed, accurate information.
Post payments and adjustments to debts, reviewing account statuses and reconciling balances.
Payments Processing:
Review and verify payment methods for DHHS clients and providers.
Distribute checks to the appropriate recipients and process returned payments.
Handle requests for replacement of lost payments promptly and efficiently.
US Bank ReliaCard Management:
Provide assistance for internal and external inquiries related to US Bank ReliaCard payments.
Update client information and make necessary changes following established procedures.
Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats to ensure clarity and accuracy.
Administrative Duties:
Create and update operational and training manuals for job duties.
Assist in training backup personnel or other users of the unit's systems.
Plan, organize, and implement work assignments in various administrative service areas to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Continuous Improvement:
Offer constructive feedback on work processes and methods.
Participate actively in process improvement projects to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the team.

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience related to research, presentation, or publication in an area related to the programs or functions of the employing agency; business administration; accounting; customer service; and/ or technical support work, including use of computer software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with NFocus Eligibility system. Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (These are needed to perform the work assigned.)
Knowledge of: administrative and office processes and procedures and associated computer applications such as word processing, file management, record keeping, and database management; customer service processes and principles; specialized processes and terminology associated with assigned work.
Skill in: active listening; asking questions; understanding instructions; using word processing; creating spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and reports; managing time, schedules, and priorities; monitoring and assessing program performance; applying critical thinking techniques.
Ability to: formulate and recommend alternative courses of action; communicate and exchange information and ideas with others; interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations; track and monitor information; retrieve information from a variety of sources; maintain confidential records.
